Masternation Here’s to the brave who brought down Berlin’s wall, not with guns and bombs, but because they heard the call, armed with the spirit of freedom. And to the masses of the U.S.S.R., who descended on Moscow, to watch communism fall, with just the desire to be free. And again to one student, who stood up to the tanks, the world and all China, came to witness that night, the power and pathway to freedom. To fight madness with madness, only leads to the same, slowing the healing of change. Live like it's your last day... |

Ray, this really holds some very good thoughts, and ones that we might do well to consider, especially right now! I was particularly drawn to the last verse...there's hope there. Exceptional... A truly happy person is one who |

Change can be effected without violence but probably not in silence. We all need to voice as you have. |

"Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." Those words were not a plea by a man armed only with the spirit of freedom. They were orders from a victorious leader to a foe vanquished by force of arms -- the best possible force, which is exerted without resorting to their use. That enemy had sworn, in so many words, to bury us, but instead bankrupted itself in trying to create the weapons to defeat a nation that again and again demonstrated its willingness to arm for -- and repel -- any attack. The nation determined to master all others was itself mastered by a nation that was peaceful but prepared to defend the spirit of freedom. I remember that student, crushed to jelly by the tank, thousands of his fellows rounded up, each shot through the head, families forced to buy the bullet that murdered their child. The bloody handed rulers who did that are now stronger than ever, and determined, as was the USSR, to master us. We in turn, are weaker, less resolute. One does not fight madness with madness. One fights it by making the deeds of madness impossible. Only then is there a chance of healing. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> ______________Ratleader______________ [This message has been edited by Ratleader (02-09-2003 12:47 PM).] |
