Between the Lines

Love of Not Forgot

"So sensitive his longing ear, so gentle is his hand
So strong yet weak, the loving heart and feelings of this man"

His touch upon the wait of mine, a longing wistful feat
Invading this, my sanity, a rhythm sent off-beat.

Unorthodox, this love of man, forgettable he's not
A twist and turn in lines between the darkness holds his lot.

Always there, in light of day, in words expressing ease
Almost home, I feel within, when canvassed words, his, please.

He stands alone, this love of mine, his swords are double edged.
I've stalked the shadows for his find, and often I am wedged

Between the highs and lows of life, the intervals unseen
Understanding clouds of gray, that seem to be routine.

But caught forever in his grasp, the hold, a silken knot
That loosens when he touches me, this love, of not forgot.

Thank you Sharon. It is so cold here today that I am bundled up in twice as much clothing and can't do much else. So I am warming myself up with writing, posting and the reading of everyone elses.

Maureen, I'm sorry it's so cold there, but I sure am glad that you're writing and posting....as well as reading and replying (because I like to read your sweet replies, too).

And this poem says exactly the way I think I would be if something, (God forbid), were to happen to my Love and me. We are so in love that I can't stand the thought of being without him and his love.
I truly hope that this wonderful man of yours will soon be completely in your life......

Heart hugs,
Ethel

Dixie, I just wanted to write my heart out today. By tomorrow I won't have a word to say. I will be all poeted out

Nancy, thank you...fun it was. And a great challenge by Liz.

Ethel. as always I feel like you are there to  cheer me on I don't reply as well as others...usually by the time I reply I am worn out for the day.
You are lucky to have such a love with Gary and he with you. But I don't know how you canhave it long distance without going  crazy. Thankyou for the kind thoughts. If he's there or not, it won't change my feelings.

Liz,
Each of your lines is a beauty. In the two that I posted under your poem, we each chose a line to take (another group elsewhere, a few years ago) and we brought each line to life in an entirely new sonnet. It was fun. So when I saw that serenity, I believe, used a line of yours, I thought that would inspire me today. So I thank both of you for today's poetry.
