Itty-Biddy Wady Bug itty-biddy wady bug flyin’ pas’ a wazy swug polky-dotted red-red wings flappin’ to the song he sings black is pretty, shiny, too when he passes me an’ you with sun all sparkly, wookin’ down shinin’ on this wady-cwown he fwies up there and then back down makes a smile of my frown wands on my elbow, crawls up top then settles in to drink a drop he’s such a siwwy bug, you see, for all the raindrops coating me are jus’ some pitchers on my shirt jus’ above my ‘brella skirt my mama made my pretty clothes so I could be jus’ wike a rose catchin’ raindrops in the spring and all the wovewiness they bring so wady bug and I will dance in the sun with ev’ry chance come out an’ dance with us, pwease do, the sun’ll put some dance in you ©January 8, 2003 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
