Cinquains For A Wynter's Day To Love To warm your heart To say the words with touch To know that every feeling is Special Special Hearts, one to one Beat each other's rhythm Lifeline needing, constant feeding To Share To Share The hushing sounds Of silent offerings Gifting in tenderness, to each, Their Love Their Love Affectionate Never wavers in cold Seeks the flame of passion, to light Each Night Each Night In arms, beheld A richness, one embraced Just a glimpse of eternity To Love M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." Maureen, this is beautiful... May I copy this off, so I can study this form of poetry? And, what exactly is the count of the syllables, or whatever it is? The easiest way for me to learn something is to practice the examples. Thank you, friend.... Hearty hugs from Ethel |

Smartchick told me it is in the workshop challenge but it goes like this 2 syllables 4 syllables 6 syllables 8 syllables 2 syllables There may be a more structured definition in the workshop...and friends and I did them as a round, taking the last syllables of each and making them the first of our next ending with the first again. Thank you Ethel. |

This is very beautiful. Not easy such results with the counting of syllables. Margherita |

Interesting chain, this, don't recall seeing it before. More circle than chain, I'll bet there is a way to represent it as a continuous loop. You should give this variation a name, M. |

in another forum where we came up with this we called it a Cinquain Round. Nor sure if it is a good name or not, but thank you. M [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (02-11-2003 07:07 AM).] |
