“ROMANTIC GUITAR”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
Divine melodic sounds from wood,
character sings out just right,
bluesy sevenths are the chords,
reaching out to you this night…
Fingers touch strings lightly to entice,
a strum of romance sighs in desire,
whispers of notes touch you inside,
tenderly I play them to conspire…
My eyes gaze into yours and I listen,
as you sway hips rhythmically to allure,
tenor is clear, as I sing to your smile,
it beckons with a mystical lure…
This romantic guitar hypnotizes slowly,
dreamy evening together with you,
walk with me into moonlight’s theme,
love will we make, all the night thru…
How could she resist such a lyrical invitation?! This is a well-written lesson in
how to win a lover in the good old *Love Me Tonight* tradition from a musician who obviously knows his crotchets and quavers. My love of music -both listening and performing- augmented my enjoyment in the reading (and re-reading) of this piece.
Bill,
This was really beautiful...
I've played that type of music in the past
and it brought back some sweet hurting
memories...But I loved your poem and I love my memories. Thanks for you posting it!!
OK - I am hooked.  The gentle breeze, the romantic guitar in the moonlight.  Hmmmmm - sounds great.
Very cool image here Bill.  Soft and romantic, perfectly tuned.
