(In honor of my son who died 2/22/99. a revised version of post in Corner Pub 04/2001.) A New Spring The air is warm, the sky is blue, But I can only think of you. You would so love this wonder day Stolen from the month of May. You always loved the springtime best, I know that, for you once confessed, "Just let the winter have his fling, For after winter comes the spring." I wish God could have given you, A little time a month or two. Cruel February took your breath. I lost both spring and you to death. This is the fifth spring since that date, And winter I have ceased to hate. In memory your words still ring, "After long winter comes the spring." By Joyce 4/24/2001 |

"After long winter comes the spring." This was beautiful... had a very nice flow to it and was full of meaning. I'm sorry to hear about your son. I'm glad that you can still find spring. - Jaime Shiva went on break now look at how much it's gonna take to make this place a space where we can breathe. |

Thank you Jaimie. Five springs seems like a long time, but to me it isn't. I'm okay though. Love, Joyce |

Joyce, you wrote this beautifully, and I understood it all too well. And you're right, all the time in the world is nothing, when it seems like less than yesterday that you held him in your arms. But keep finding comfort with the life in spring. Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |
