words, need consummated under lights, heavy hands gripping for clarity. ice letters forming corporation's sign sway and slicken crystal-slow, quite discrete. settles low on table laid with business cards, melting by the platter stacked with deli meats. slivers, crumbs for the suits to feed on. with movement sly they mix remains within their drinks. |

Mikey, so that's where you've been hanging out! Were you an observer or a participant? You certainly captured the essence of some of these functions. Warm hugs, Linda |

Thanks, Ron and Linda. I just got back from a business function in Vegas, for the magazine I work at -- and both this and "The Worst Cup of Coffee" are accounts from what I saw/felt/etc. from the trip. I'll be quiet next week, too. My girlfriend's coming down from Canada for a visit Feb. 8-16! No way I'm going to spend my time on PIP then. Thank you both for reading, and for being such great supports. Mike |
