somebody's dungeon

I've made the discovery
that with pink there is a fade.
A slight lack of define..
      captured
 in time, a silence
of surround in soft hue.

The lack of din apparent
in the lifeless shade
there displayed, no color.
What a shame, only gray
  close your eyes.

I've seen simple glass,
nothing fancy, I might add,
become a color wonder
pulled with skill from under
a photograph is all,
nothing grand, nothing tall
a tiny little frame,
within which I now play.

Slashing with a stroke,
not of brush, but of mouse
capturing what is here
in this, my half-way house
then changing,
        slipping
now the tones are dripping
with the pales and pastels
so quiet in their whispers,
here amongst the storm of emotions,
  picture sky, picture ocean.

   This world, now my playground
where the children are arrayed
in the color of the day
even the creeping of the green
across the lawn is seen.
All in frame this does show.

Yes, the world is the same
   it still lies beneath
     the burst of rainbow,

but the color now drips
  upon my waiting fingertips.

I love this. I makes me look around and notice the color in the things around me.
In a small way it reminded me of the poem "write a picture" I wrote, but this is beautiful.
these are my favorite lines

that with pink there is a fade.
A slight lack of define..
      captured
in time, a silence
of surround in soft hue.

when your in a poem all time stands still.. sometimes
Love it!
Always, Alyssa

- And so it was that time stood still -

Anne, I love to read about your colors and
the way you apply them to your life. Very pretty..

You definitely have the talent to paint with words many colorful,  thoughtful and touching poems. Even in your down times you manage to write up poetry for your reader. Appreciate you and all your poetry.

Your style in this is like water colors blending to unmatchable pastels; a perfect way to bring out the subject.
