This Day (2/4/03JDC) I’ve climbed mountains for success Cried rivers for each death Screamed while bringing life And learned from all life’s strife I’ve loved and not had it returned Married and gotten burned Trusted and been betrayed Held on too long and left when I should have stayed I’ve listened and not been heard Recognized evil and still been lured Walked away when I knew I had lost Fought with everything regardless the cost I’ve been honest and I’ve lied Gone on when my spirit died Helped when I knew I could And stood still when I knew I should I’ve done the best I knew how to do And even though I find myself without you I know from experience the hurt won’t stay And just as from the others, I will learn from this day |
