Orange County Snow

Snow flakes
Shine in the grass,
Sun-sparkles fill the breeze.
White flower petals tumble from
My trees.

Mostly teasing Nan -- it's snow time here right now, while almost everybody else has the real thing.....

Ed--Snow has a different name here most times, but I recall a day last year when we had the real thing.

Ed,

Snickering at your bug joke. Also, it looks like this is  Cinquain Poetry.
I like it and you make it look so easy. Also, did enjoy the poem for content. Lots of talent. Enjoyed greatly.

Yep... need to go rake up my pine needles after the big wind.  Such a shame I'll have to do it in shorts.  These California winters can be so harsh.

I just read your little remark about Florida

If that's true, it's because all the other
people brought them to us........

HEY, where's my reinforcements??Huh??
Dixie? Paladin? Seymour? Balladeer? Julie? Carol?...and anybody else that loves
Florida and all its beautiful  WHITE beaches!!!!!!!

So there!!! lol

Hi, Regards 'n company!

Actually Cinquain IS easy. You get a lot of bang for your buck with it. If you follow the little system that Nan has laid out over in the Workshop, it practically writes itself.

Gradeschool teachers sometimes use it as a way of breaking the ice for kids who have never written a poem.

Of course like any other poetic form, the more you put into it the more you get back, but it's surprising how much you can do with those few simple lines.
