A POEM FOR PEACE
by
Earth Angel

~*~

Let's hold hands brothers and sisters
Around our Mother Earth
Love encircling this lone blue planet
This giving home of our birth

We all are brothers and sisters
Regardless of creed or race
Hold hands my brothers and my sisters
Make our world a peaceful place

Let's sing praise to our Father in the heavens
Let's rejoice in our global family
Open hearts with love and understanding
Sharing lives in peace and harmony

Let's hold hands my brothers and my sisters
Let's all pray for everlasting peace
May we respect and love one another
May all wars forever truly cease

Let's stand united as brothers and sisters
As we spin through space and time
Holding hands, praying together
Ensuring peace for all mankind

A fitting tribute for ALL poets and their views. May we be blessed to see the peace we seek in our ourselves become the light that will shine into others.

DLY ~

I agree with you in that peace does begin within ourselves. Inner leads to outer...however, that is rather disconcerting! Unfortunately inner peace is not the prevalent state of being for most of the peoples of the world. I think it is wonderful that you are asking others to join you in writing anti-war poetry. As a Vietnam War veteran, you know the true face of war--you've stared it in the eye!

Warm hugs,
EA

Duncan ~

Sounds like a great idea! Thank you!

P.S.
Please make mine a Diet Coke!

Warm hugs on a cold day (at least it's cold here!)

(big hugggsssssss)n Oh Linda, I've been joining in many anti-war rallies since the whole issue ever came up in the first place, I think Bush's decisions have become somewhat disturbing and ridiculous to me and Tony Blair being nothing but a bobbing head toy to his support and I find war honestly meaningless, I can't help but agree with Nelson Mandela's recent words! (sad sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, I hope we can just approach this situation without bullets or battalions, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Noah, I can picture you now at one of those anti-war rallies...I bet you are known as "The Angel Among Us"! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Big, warm hugs,
Linda

IF we all hold hands, all around the globe, maybe we can reach out with enough strength
to tear down all the walls of power and weaponry that threaten to destroy all of humanity.

Midnitesun ~

You certainly moved me with your poetically impassioned plea! I'm reaching for your hand...
