I’m indulging myself,
To chasms of the chamber
Of the pain within my skin.

I’m allowing myself to focus
On the movement, on the breath,
The eyelids drop,
And furl of temple.

Fist my hand
To know I’m in no nightmare.

Its shaded black
And every scream I hear
Is followed by a whimper,
    Murmur,
All my own.

I feel faint,
    Falling,
  Fading…
    Must be time
  To breathe again.

Slowly,
    With a raspy,
  Whisper,
Contritely I pull through.

Taking strength,
  From ached muscles,
    Now, its time,
To Blink.

- And so it was that time stood still -
     (blink, breathe, stand, fight)

Alyssa,

Hmmmmmm!

This is extremely well written. I suspect anyone who's ever had migraine's or worse, (one of the problems I've NOT had..gee, I didn't think there were any, smiling here,) can relate to this immediately.....

and, even if not, easy to  'get the picture'  with each descriptive phrase/line....

Enjoyed the talent of this..though ~blinking~ a couple tears for what some must suffer through.

Hugs and love, Pat

Eric,
I'm glad you think so and for that, I'm glad I shared it too! thanks for taking the time to read and to reply.

Pat,
Worse then migraines!? *gasp* quitle close to impossible, and yet reality, frightening! I'm glad you think its well written, didn't take long to put together, they were my thoughts all night. But my migraines are more severe then what most have seen... though all are terrible.
no tear blinking!
Love and hugs,

Always, Alyssa

Well now, migraines are something I can relate to. Allergies are frequently a cause, and swollen sinuses can trigger them. I actually found something recently that works for me...Pamprin! It is amazing how much better it works than Aspirin,  Advil, Motrin etc. And cold compresses on the back of the head and neck.
OK, I'm no Doctor Kacy, but the Pamprin works great for me if I catch the bugger at the very beginning.

Denise,
thank you. I feel honored, but am sure I don't deserve the title. Just another write.

Midnitesun,
Thanks for the advice, I'm seeing a few specialists as of now, so I'm sure something that helps me will come along sometime here. And I'm glad you found something to help.

ThisDiamond,
I appreciate your reply. I like trying out different styles, though I've never done meter... I can't count sylllables, its crazy! I'd go insane. but all that was to say thank you.

Always, Alyssa

SEA,
sorry to hear that you can relate!
I've been to the ER a few times with them. They just give demerol, which they don't like to give to 15 year olds, especially when they have to give double the adult amount for it to affect me!!
But I deal ..by writing! Thanks for replying.

Alyssa, I certainly do relate, having had migraine's for
quite a few years, now. They are really bad.

Sorry to hear that someone so young suffers with
this terrible pain.

You wrote of them very well, friend.....

Ethel,
I'm so so sorry to hear you've dealt with them too, and for so long. I wrote a bit in here about them when they spread to muscles, so that may seem unfamiliar, I'm hoping most don't actually, literally, wait to breathe and pass out like me. But ike I said before, I deal.
Hoping your feeling well now
And thank you much for replying so kindly.
