A Different Breeze

The breeze was blowing in a different way
A colder air had changed the passing day
And whispered words - “deceit surrounds your name”
Though eyes saw light and dark to be the same

Unaltered was perspective of the trust
That with the blink of eye had turned to dust
The window to my heart was open wide
Exposing the unthinkable inside

Though I was there to watch our spirits grow
I was the last to cry - the last to know

Elizabeth Santos

Dear Liz:  You continually amaze me with your spectacular poems.

I am so sorry I am unable to join you at the end of the month. It would have been so much fun to meet you and giggle and have a great visit. Nan has promised we can come another time.

Hugs, Marti

Liz, I don't know how I missed this, but I'm glad I saw it this time around.
I totally relate to this, since I had someone, in the past, cause my trust in them to shatter, too. It doesn't feel good at all, either....
Hugs to you...
