Do you really understand me when I talk to you As you look into my eyes it seems as though you do Seeming to sense my moods happiness, sadness, or joy I feel Ready to lend a listening ear I know your love is real I talk to you a lot every single day Even when I get busy close by my side you stay If I have to go somewhere and you can't go along Sometimes you make me feel as if I've done something wrong I also know always protection to me you'll give Listening and watching for anything different where we live You certainly have proven well as only you, little Scooter, can do That "Dog is man's best friend" now, this lady believes it's true |

It certainly is true, Ethel! My little guy wouldn't let anyone hurt me. He's sooooo brave...until it thunders, of course! Cute tribute to Scooter! |

This reminds me of one of my favorite books -Kinship with all Life. It takes an open, loving heart to know how to listen. And you listen(and then write about it!) so wonderfuly. Eric |

Denise, Sounds like you know what I'm talking about. Yeah, my Scooter is afraid of thunder, too... then he wants me to protect him....lol He hops up in my lap when it thunders, even if I'm at the computer.  . . Nancy Lee, Yeah, I didn't really plan it that way, until I was about half-way through writing it, and I decide to not put the title as "Scooter". lol . . Pat, Thank you. I'm glad that you liked it. Paul, I know... I really didn't intend the poem to sound like I was writing about Gary to start with, then the more I wrote, I thought about how similar it was to my love poems to him. Then, I decided to kid a little bit and wait until the ending to reveal what the poem was about.... I'm glad that it gave you "a happy face".  |
