It lies within my cranium
Coiled like a pink snake
A mass of nerve tissue
The center of my thoughts.

Ah, therein lies the trouble
My thoughts are seldom centered
They are not tidy
They are chaotic, nonsensical.

I search helplessly
Within that mass of tissue
Searching for the answer
To this thought I had.

Where do all the answers go
Filed away in that grey matter
Euphemistically called my brain
Gone not there.

I prod and pry
Knowing somewhere
Lies that answer
I once put there.

Alas, like my face
My brain seems
A little wrinkled
Just a little, not quite right.

Peering at my reflection
I wonder, why do we
Always lose, what we
Want so much to keep.

My brain once knew
Wondrous tricks
Now, it is full of mischief
Hiding things from me.

LOL! In my case, it's called "senior moments"!

Good thoughts well-expressed, miss

I would say I used to think that hanging on was a solution and now find it's best to accept and not expect...like yourself I too search through the grey matter

ROTFL... I love this... When pink and gray intertwine, I think we find resultant "brain clumps"... I have my share, for sure...

Sneaky, pesky little critters, those brains...

Thanks for such a light-hearted poem!

Thanks to all who responded.  It is great to laugh once in awhile since most of my stuff is sooooo serious.  Thanks again.  Barb
