The atmosphere is thick,
crushed by the weight of thought,
my routine interrupted as it was
once before, long ago.
Station after station
reporting the unknown.
Rejection, failure,
fragments disintegrating.
Demolished by a moment's glimpse,
my mood invaded into somberness.
Dismal gray, a dismal day.

"Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less."

February has that effect of me too, hang in there; push the grey away.

you captured the bleak grey all too well.
Cloudy, foggy, and flooding here.
.. you know, of course you don't, I'll tell you! I don;t know why, but one of my favorite colors is silver... because its how I act alot (strange I know) but silver is only a glorified gray. a bleak color made to look good.
I don't know why I shared.. but hey something to think about
anyyyyway, I enjoyed this in a ..bleak way.

Always, Alyssa

Very sad indeed. May their families and friends find strength and perseverance.....

The atmosphere is thick all right, but the fact remains they didn't die in vain.  Each man and woman did their part and will be remembered,  not as a failed attempt,  but as American astronauts who dared to live their dreams.

We owe them that much, as they become a part of our history that transcends their very dream.

Maureen, it is certainly a sad day. This February 1st won't be forgotten. The why of these tragedies just can't be figured out. My heart goes out to all their families and loved ones.........

the rejection and failure...were on my part...the fragments disintegrating... the shuttle...making for the gray, dismal day.

KayJay I remember that day. I was teaching a science class in Middle School.

Negative news is something I don't handle well, and yet I can't just turn it off when it is of importance.

Thanks Dixie, for  stopping by
