Jealousy
~~~~~~~~~~~
Jealousy is sometimes cruel
sometimes it is silly
Needing to think before acting
and not act upon instincts, merely
Most times when this monster appears
showing it's big green-eyes
The reason causing it
is not usually where truth lies
At times it creeps into a romance
other times, at a place where someone works
Even shows it's face in Church
this green-eyed monster lurks
Insecurities most often are
the reason for this, mainly
For causing someone to get jealous
and at times making them act insanely
In all walks of life
jealousy will show it's face
It's been known to cause much violence
if not controlled and put in its place
You point out a very big problem we have in our world today!  Thank you for the reminder that we are not to be jealous, but content and trusting!
I have been on both sides of the insane spectrum that you write of.  Neither of which are a good place to be.
So very well expressed Ethel dear~
Jealousy can compound a relationship and quickly endanger it.
I appreciate your take on this green-eyed monster Ethel!
Ethel I must admit to jealousy now and then, for instance the jealousy of gary for hogging the incredible sweetness and affection you bestow. Thank you for your email as you can see it helped and I'm going to try to post/work through this and more importantly read your poetry
Jealousy is a deadly sin but it is not easy to avoid, you pointed this out well.
(big hugggssssssss) Oh Ethel, this is so sad but true, sweet friend, jealousy is a silent killer and ever since Joanna told me the truth I was not jealous, but I rather pitied her for being a hypocrite! (sad sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
jealous kills, seems hard to rid the human
heart of it though, when it comes to love
Ethel,
Great topic. With good responses.
Only thing to add is only the meaness spirited would deliberately try to make someone jealous...
Right about insecurities...and sometimes, non-romantic kinds, I view as  simply compliments....best to try to help that person if possible, by tactfully pointing out good traits we see in them, but usually they do not want help...so sad...but, as said, so human....
Enjoyed, Pat
garysgirl - yes indeed, it can be a killer of dreams, and of romance. Yet it also can strike in so many differnet ways...
Dr. Pepper Freak,
Yes, if we all could be content and trusting,
maybe there would be no jealousy.
Thanks for reading and replying....
Lori,
My deceased husband was insanely jealous at times,
with me not giving him any reason to be. It
was very nerve-wracking at times.
Thanks for your reply.
Nancy Lee,
You're so right....jealously can make it
really hard for a relationship to work. The
results of it can actually make love slowly
die, I think.
Thanks for reading, friend...
Raph,
I glad my e-mail helped, and that you decided
to come back and post here. I loved the way
you wrote the poem you posted today.
Thanks, too, for reading my poem and your
sweet remarks....
Kethry,
Yes, you know, jealousy is found almost
everywhere you go, isn't it?
Thank you for reading and replying
to my poem. I appreciate it.....
.
.
Noah,
Yes, I believe that jealous grows in a
person until it gets so big that's all the
person thinks of....it consumes a person, I think.
Thanks for replying, friend...
Michele,
Yeah, I think that anyone who loves someone
in a romantic way is a little jealous. It's
when it isn't kept under control and gets
out of hand and makes the person insanely
jealous, that it gets to be dangerous.
Thanks for your reply...
.
.
Pat,
You're right. There are some people who try
to make other people jealous just to make
themselves feel better. That's not right.
And I feel the same as you do about the
non-romantic types of jealousy.
Thanks for replying......
Eric,
Thank you very much for reading my poem
and for replying to it. That was nice of you....
.
.
Bill,
Yes, it really can kill dreams and romance.
And, in extreme cases, it can cause people
to kill another person, too. I wish that people
who get so insanely jealous would get some kind
of help so that they could control it.
Thank you for your reply....
.
.
Vandana,
I'm glad that you enjoyed reading my poem.
