Forever...and a Day

Did we think forever
would really ever last?

Perhaps, for true love knows not time...

Did the dreams we severed
forlorn the memories of past?

Perhaps, for true love often is blind...

Was love merely circumstance
in truth a hopeless romance
illusion to fairytale dreams
as it seems?

Perhaps, for the heart also dreams...

It takes it's chance
leads the dance
of love song...right or wrong

Seems, Perhaps we'll never know
stay or go
loose our soul
to the questions of wonder
seems the questions we'll ponder
forever... and a day

Dennis,

Interesting poem, for my wedding vows literally included: "Forever and ever and three days", with every intention of just that. Attached to my soul as an almost indelible tatoo.....Shocking at point of realization, it is NOT going to work! The tumbling and wear upon my spirit and soul finally wore it off..... and smoothed off any rough edges of ignorance I might have had.... clarity now brighter than ever....

Dennis, when we are so deeply in love, we always hope and pray that it will truly last "forever and a day". Don't we? I guess that's why it is so devastating if it ends.
I do still believe it's possible...guess you can tell by the poems I write......
