Here I am, with a blank page What will I write on it? I could write about my dreams, But I can’t seem to reach them From the place where I sit Like little stars they twinkle Far up in the sky, But, like stars, they seem so far— Way too far for me to touch Since I’m just a normal guy Maybe instead some pretty flowers Could speak through my poet’s hands If I could only but grasp Their intangible spirits I would start to understand If I could reach those flowers I am sure that I would find That the dreams that I had lost Or that shined beyond my reach Are with the flowers intertwined |
