Listening to every heart

Poets push aside
pain and fear, tears they would hide
history again
then pick up respective pens,
seeking ways to find a mend

I think President Lincoln was one of the finest users of English, but his Gettysburg Address did not heal.  However, Winston Churchill's "We will nevah surrender" speech probably kept England alive.  Both of these men are poets to me, as are you.
