Snagged

The Pyracantha thorns unseen
On craggy reaching branch of green
Seemed resolute to catch my eye
And snagged my sleeve as I passed by

Then turning to release the hold
Of spiny hooks in cotton fold
Most skillful movements couldn’t untwist
Entangled spikes around my wrist

And then I saw tucked in her care
The reason she had held me there
If not delayed by her request
My eyes would never have been blessed

For cradled deep within her breast
Three aqua jewels in downy nest

Another beautiful poem... Good work. Life has all kinds of little "thorns" that are intended to snag our attention.

Thank you all so very much for your kind comments. This poem, incidentally is true. Happened last spring.

(smiles) Oh Elizabeth, I believe with all my heart this is a true story, sweet friend, for before I saw a robins egg in its nest and we made sure it was protected! (kiss on cheek) This is so cute, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Noah, THank you, dear. I wish I could be there in Colorado to hear you recite your poetry. I would just love that.

Dale and Rosemary. You are my invisible friends, though I've never met you, I've always felt a closeness that I can'r explain. Compatable spirits, I would say.
Thank you kindly for your comments
