The Country
~ By Sue ~

The stars were clear to see, when I lived out in the country
But not here in the city, they seem to hide from me

Now, I step outside my door, I do not see them anymore
All the things I did adore, are not there like before

Then there are my feathered friends, I left back there on that land
My llama had eaten from my hand, she had become my friend

It doesn't seem fair I had to leave, all the things I had recieved
I hung on to my belief, that I could take them all with me

Now I sit here in my house, after moving further south
About them I know nothing about, I had to leave them with my spouse

Who will be there to give them food, he doesn't care the way I do
Even though I have a life brand new, happy days are so few

The country I had learned to love, I could see the stars above
Now life seems to be too rough, but it will just make me tough

I guess it has to make you tough,
but the missing just aches in this.

More power to you for going with your heart.

I enjoyed your poem very much Sue!

I can hear the longing
clear as a bell. The stars
may be dimmer from missing
you too.

Nicely expressed~

Where did you move?  I lived in a small town most of my life and although there were beautiful nights there...i still like the city.  Of course I can be out of it in about 5 minutes ....and see everything I need to see.

I do kind of miss the animals though *S*

Enjoyed your write

reminds me of the song by Canned Heat..."goin' up the country..."

Sue, love where you live, wherever you are, there you are.

It's good to be alive...enjoy your stay.

(big hugggsssssssss) Oh Sue, I understand just how you feel, sweet friend, I don't like the city that much and wish to live where the stars are bright as I love spending time in the country! (kiss on cheek) This is right at home, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
