I've missed again some hundred poems
Sometimes I nearly weep
Because I didn't find the time
Too busy with my sheep

It rains, it storms, thunder got loose
The world got white in five minutes time
By hail as big as cherries red
Oh dear, oh dear I do miss your rhyme

My sheep are walking in the mud
Tomorrow it will freeze
They want to eat the whole day long
Packed in thick I still must sneeze

Tonight I've put eight hundred sheep
Into this program pedigree
I have six thousand in there now
But still no end I see

In two weeks time I take a ride
Into the Drenthen land again
Sure I'll take some pics for you
Of all the sheperd men

I'll take a friend with me this time
She wants to see how it is done
We'll stay an extra over night
And in the pub we'll have some fun

But know my friends, I miss you dearly
I will be back here in due time
Catch up with all that I have missed
Reading poems and sip some wine

I heard Balladeer is in Doldrum city
Bet he's playing golf out there
Leaving us without his wits
Mmmm..I don't think that's really fair

As I write the hail is pouring
Making noises at my roof
Poor flock of sheep out there on meadow
Really hope they're water proof

Next month in March the lambs are coming
Lots of poet names out here
Think I do the same as last year
And name them after friends so dear

I have to go, I know I'm sorry
But the dogs, they want their walk
Glad I took some time tonight
To share with you this little small talk

Geez, like the wind is hauling now, I will be swept of my feet out there LOL

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Geez, and I was complaining about just walking the dog!
Take lots of pics for us Titia.

Titia - hello !! You sound so busy with your sheep, and the weather is sounds dreary. Well, it's freezing here and snowing. I miss your poetry too. Oh, if I might be as bold as to ask....will you please name a little lamb after me? I think they are so sweet. Take care in that damp weather. hugs, Chris

Titia, this is absolutely delightful. I love little lamb's too..........will you name one after me, too? PLEEEEEEEEEASE?????? You don't have to name it Ethel, if you don''t want to...I don't like that name. Hey, my middle name is Mae...That wouldn't be too bad for a little lamb, would it????

Hey, Lady, don't forget to put your pictures on here for all of us to see. Okay?

Duncan, LOL sometimes even I complain about walking the dogs, like now, it's dog's weather as we call it over here. Yes, I'm still very busy with that pedigree business. Have to put in all the sheep of the Association and people sometimes don't think.
They write me a note: "Gone, 16 sheep" and then they think I know where they've gone and when LOL and then I have to pick up the phone again, three times because they are not home, and ask them.

Bill, it would probably closer to thousands than to hundreds, I agree, I'll catch up soon.

Nightshade, you got a deal, first lamb will be called after you. Should it be a male or female, can't tell by your name, Chris is a man's name overhere. It will be called Nightshade though.

Garysgirl, don't sweat on the name dear, it will be called Garysgirl, I always use the alians, they're rather cute for sheep I think.
If you look me up in smart search in the archives and go back to march/april last year, you will find the pics and little poems of the lambs scattered there.

So, as it is quiet outside, I think I go walk my dogs. Coming along Duncan?

Awwww Titia. More babies! I think little lambs are so cute. Is there any chance you could name one after me? I wish I could have a little lamb, but I am back in the big city, now. I don't think I would be allowed to have one here. Thank you Titia for sharing this with us. And remember, all work and no play is no fun. Don't work too hard.

Titia...it's not good to stay away so long
that you miss one hundred poems...but...
at least we have the archives for the long
nights when the winds blow, and the sheep
are safe, and warm...and the job is done.

At least we have that...yes?

Titia, that's a deal on the name. Gary will like that, too.
By the way, I'm going to the archives to see your pictures of the sheep this afternoon. I din't know they were there. Thanks for telling me.
Take care and be careful on your trip.

P.S. I totally understand about getting behind on reading everyone's poems. When I'm not on here much for a few days, I get so far behind, I never get caught up. It's fun trying, though, isn't it? Oh, and don't wait so long to check in with us and let us know how everyone is. By the way, how is your Mom doing? Good, I hope..

Oh dear, me and my crummy English.

I don't have six thousand sheep myself, but in the pedigreeprogram that I'm maintaining for the Association LOL

This old Dutch breed is very rare and with a group of people we're trying to hold on to the breed and make it look like in the old days again through selective breeding.

I myself have only 35 of them.

Thanks to all who took the effort to reply.

Titia

Wow, Titia! I may be stuck in Doldrum City but it's warm with no wind! Do you still have my namesake there, I am asking sheepishly?

Have fun on your trip and enjoy the pubs!!
