The street is an ice river
Broken pipes and cogged sewer,
The city sends men
That with jack hammers dig in
Ripping the concrete
A massive hole in the street
Fills with cold water
Overflowing ice river
Glacier moves to the harbor.

Where's global warming
When you face an icy morning,
The argument fails
When bitter winter assails;
This cold deftly stalks
And winds finds my missing caulk
Of the windows here
That looks out to ice river
And the coldest of winters.

Cold avenue, warm tenue
in a hands in the pockets,
chin sinking deep in collar
sort of way....

Icy and inviting~

Well, I was nice and comfy warm before reading this.

I like these lines:

"Where global warming,
When you face an icy morning,
The argument fails"

Enjoyed, Pat

..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons..

Thank you, Tari Miriel,
For the poetic response, pleased you enjoyed

Thank you, Regards2you and Sunshine,
Glad you liked, sorry for the chill
Let me warm you

Embers glowing head,
Watching but should be in bed
Instead of near flames
Remembering old friend’s name
And times now gone by
The brings a tear to the eye
Glistening as the sparks fly.
