Many times it brings me tears
After even all these years
Recalling what I thought he was
Caught in my misperceptions
Or his cleverly portrayed deceptions

But I've been fooled before
Let alone. by one I love
Every word he said to us
Everything he'd done
Draws itself into suspicion
Since he's been so long gone

Babes in scarlet make me sad
Especially when they cry
Helpless innocence entwined
In all the grown-up lies
No one told me before it was late
Demons love to come in disguise

That was the way they broke him
Hard upon the heart
Emptied his soul into the dark

Bury him in a white casket
Leave him an epitaph on the lid
Invitations to an after-life
No one ever told me why he
Did what they say he did

"I don't need to scream for you to deem me aggravation."

Interesting and well written.

I like the line:

"Demons love to come in disquise"

lots to think about here....

Thank you for the replies. Now look again at the first letter of each line...

"I don't need to scream for you to deem me aggravation."
