Standing on the 17th
I see the stillness of the pond below
the reflections of the other bank
with its long shadows cast upon the water

I hear the birds chirping
as they roost for the night
Lining up like statues
in the barren trees
Leaves long good
but the mighty remains
waiting for renewal

Silently cursing the group ahead
for their slow play
as we chase the bright orange spot
in the sky to finish

The sun whose shades change from
bright orange to wonderful shades of red
The sky blue as my eyes
changing to deep purples
as daylight slow fades and dusk prevails

Oh i want to finish my super round
and having bragging rights for another week
My windshirt keeps me warm
as the sky deepens
Who's smiling now
as I am comfortable but you chill
in your fashionable shirt sleeves and shorts
I've played here before

With the wind at my back
I hit a smooth shot
on the green for the 13th time today
another birdie opportunity
another just missing
I am happy and content
I had fun
I was in my zone
A nice place to be
until next week when I hope
to appease the golf gods again

A week of reflection
A week of 'if I only did this,
why did I do that'
But no matter what
I show up
A fool am I?

Less roaming and more zoning and you might have made the birdies, enjoyed.

The putter just wasnt working the way it should have. I was distracted by the beauty of Okeeheelee. And anyways, I was looking for something to write about.
