four liners

This coldness sears
upon my handling
of memories
resisting still.

~~*~~

I search the glass,
see only pain,
a mirrored me
in my refrain.

~~*~~

Outside the cold,
holds Wynter's blue
in shades of dark,
their only hue.

~~*~~

A backwards step
to treasure time,
as passions fall
to words in rhyme.

~~*~~

These fingers walk
to weave a quilt
of freedom found
in loss of guilt.

~~*~~

So few words
reach out to touch
the keys conveying
the weakness of my mind.

M

Did you have a touch of snow again???
so cold...I am wearing gloves to type...these old houses seem cold even when heated.

This is so beautiful. I haven't looked out my door to see if it snowed or not. But, it is definitely cold in my house.

One mirror gives me company,
Two mirrors make a crowd.
One room reflecting endlessly,
One voice, the echoes loud.

These things are fun, even though you do 'em better than me (and shorter, darn it!).....

I searched out this site because my muse had wandered off without her ID card, but I think I see her up the street there.... Granny! Hey, Granny! Over Here!

You weave this quite nicely Maureen

Sue, yes we had a dusting..I went to start the car and ..it wouldn't.  Called the garage and they were out to lunch...my neighbor who called me a "darling" the other day came over with his car and got it going finally. Of course he needs another favor   but one favor deserves another in return...

Ratleader,
Somehow I smile at your name,  I picture a line of rats crossing the street and you leading them (with a baton in foot)...
I loved your 4 liner, I never thought about the mirror being my company (I don't feel as alone now )
And the two made me laugh...
I loved this response,
thank you, Ed
Maureen

I usually do something like this when I  have  very few thoughts in my head...
Granny huh???

inkedgoddess, I was  beginning to think  that yes...you seem to go for the painful ones...you are not alone   Thank you

Dixie, well I think you have been writing so well..I enjoy all I read of you.
hugs

Maureen, my friend~
Your words most definitely 'reach out to touch',
but there is nothing 'weak' about them.  They are beautiful.

Yes, Maureen, all your poetry is beautiful, regardless of the numbers of lines in it....

Hmm... I have a lot of those lying around. Maybe I should steal your idea. Would you mind?

~ The perfect means? Maybe. Writing poetry to help eleviate a guilt, no matter what that guilt may be, is a tried and true method for finding that freedom.

Thank you Salty...I can tell you are enjoying Passions with a passion

kaile, it's funny but I wrote the first and last ones before I wrote the others..and because they didn't rhyme and the others did, I decided to sandwich the others in between *s
Maureen

Vicky, Thank you for your sweet comments
(and if you hear from Marge, give her my love)
hugss back to you

Ethel, oh  the number of lines  was  the title because I didn't end up with them being  10 or less or 20 or less..so I decided to just make them four liners
It's hard to stay  warm ...tonight now, is supposed to be the coldest night so far..then hopefully we begin to be in the 30's or higher...so they say
hugss
M

Eromyna, if they are lying  around then  post them on here...Bits and Pieces are always welcome *s

Nan, I know what you mean about the cold...my floors  haven't known warmth but for where the area rugs are that cover them...and  I am doubled up in clothing...older houses are drafty no matter what you do. Thank you
M

Kelly, thank you and I loveyour signature and believe in it.

O, I actually meant not to feel guilty on finding my freedom and feeling good about it or feeling the blame placed on me by others...I sometimes twist my words now
(blame it on the PA Dutch that I am surrounded by) or just on my strange way of turning a phrase...to fit a rhyme.

"These fingers walk
to weave a quilt
of freedom found
in loss of guilt."

And so I write to express..and release what use to be pent up in me..has now turned to a hobby. So in a way I can thank my husband for that.

Chris, thank you for being here and reading me.
M
and your signature..the world is lucky there is not but one of me...I could have been a twin.

KJ, the last is never the least..so I am glad to see you here.
hugss and thanks
M

Sandpiper, I like your quote..because I don't think I found poetry, I think it found me after the death of my father...and I haven't run out of words yet.*s
