Playing The Waiting Game I have no way of knowing Could I have lost a friend Our bond of togetherness Perhaps they want to end Because of your silence The lingering long pause I play the waiting games Left to ponder the cause I need you more than ever For I am feeling so alone Meanwhile I shall linger on Through memories I roam Wishing with all my heart Can my despair be heard Yearning through silence For any comforting word My mind always wanders Pages and pages of we Magical times of plentiful All remain in my memory If only it could be known Why friends drifted apart Will tomorrow find words For writing heart to heart Hope©2003 |
