Broken window Broken heart For the glass that shattered Was in my spirit For what was mostly taken Could be easily be replaced Except the pictures Taken of my brother As the cancer tries To end his life My love gives him The faith to survive As the chemo Makes him look More like my dad In the special warmth We share here in Miami Even in the unusual January chill That will heat up the memories To be remembered Throughout all time So in ghost pictures Stored in stolen moments Being raped of the opportunity To take pictures back to Alabama To share with others Of the beauty here In a Taurus parking lot Of a Coconut Grove restaurant So special are the people That they open their place To new talent in the area But the cancer of the street Soured that memory forever So in the words of sadness My trip here ended In broken glass But my love for my brother Will never be shattered Thought: In the miracle of Miami and its surrounding communities multi cultural diversity, lays the beauty to be creatively blessed in the wealth of its people. Comment: The Taurus is a special place where uniquely creative people meet, usually in tranquility. Your words are so filled with sorrow. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. |
