Turning forty is overrated
For I'm nearly there you see
But as far as I'm concerned
It makes no difference to me

As long as I am healthy
And still have much to give
Then I'll be happy and contented
With many good reasons to live

I feel comfortable in my skin
For I'm much wiser in my years
I am sensitive and emotional
And often known to shed a tear

Forever the hopeless romantic
As you can see from how I write
I'll paint an image of two lovers
Walking beneath the pale moonlight

I have found the best of presents
For it's the greatest gift you see
To be able to share my feelings
Through my love of poetry

* * *

I am turning 40 on 28th February and
unlike some people, getting older has
never been a real concern with me.I
just thought I'd share my feelings.

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

This is a beautiful poem and picture, Sue. I am way a head of you, though. It's not that bad. And, it doesn't bother me either. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Sue~ Nothing too it. Forty isn't as bad as some people think. The only thing bad about turning 40 is when you're 50 or more you hardly remember being 40 LOL.
I hope I didn't depress you....Paul

Just remember you are getting better not older. The fermented fruit gets sweeter with age. Have birthdays is a joy denied many too soon. Enjoy yours!!!

Suetang - Happy Birthday to you. And you're so right, age has no meaning, only what's inside is what counts...

Sue, fabulous picture and I giggled when I read your poem. You are still a baby and will mind getting older a lot more, when you turn 57 like me on Feb. 9th!!! How great is it that we're both Feb. babies!!!

Stay healthy both physically and emotionally, that's the key to feeling young.

Sue:  I hated turning 40!  I cried all over the place.  A year or two later I wondered why I had been so silly!  There's nothing to it!  Wait until you reach my age!  Have a wonderful birthday!
