Here, Now, Forever

Trees loom under, staring at me.
Shadowy figures of trunks and leaves.
At peace of mind I soon will be,
Cherishing the feeling of this reverie.

Moonlight pokes through the sleeping green,
The night grows older, it now seems,
As I close my eyes to depart to morning,
I dream as if I was an eagle soaring,

Feeling the wind glide under my wings,
The air's solemn howl continues to sing,
Through the dark misty cotton clouds I soar,
I wish it would last forevermore.

As, I slowly regress from the skies above,
I open my eyes to the night I love.

I have sent you nothing but angels, and I have placed nothing but miracles before you.

rhymes divine...lovely imagery...
A mellow and peaceful flight you take us on..
a surreal, ethereal beauty poet sir

Virginia hasn't yet faded away
I keep thinking tomorrow is coming today
So I am endlessly waiting

I love this!
Very dream-like quality to this piece.
Extremely well done and much enjoyed.

The third stanza seems a bit contrived in its rhyming of 'soar' and 'forevermore'. But it reads well.

It's amazing I won. I was running against peace, prosperity, & incumbency.

EagleScorpion - this write is so very peaceful and serene. It must come from within. I read it over and over. Just great....
