Come, February

Why do I have to wait for you
wearing your cold plate of sky

I can drain down in this sun warm
chill-off in memories closet anytime

No  not sky a cloud

Listen to the edge
aware of thin lines
then fall

Feel the way the skin turns
like opening oranges
bitter    bitter
the sweet

Down   down
into the sweet juice of grief
is a place pure and remorseless

Yes, I can find you
any time

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Martie, I know this feeling ever so well, this Valentines Day I will think of my Joanna so much as I always loved her and still do but may never hear from her again! (sad sigh) This is very heartfelt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Wow, Martie. You've captured pure grief here, yes. Wishing that February was here right now for you.

Martie,
What I am seeing is the option. The choice to dwell on the unpleasant, or embrace the positive. My money is on you.

It's difficult to even imagine someone elses grief, but your words always draw me into it, somehow, just as all of your poetry does. Your unique style is almost transparent and yet at the same time vivid and clear, the feelings that come from your unusual perspective and wonderful phrases. I love every thing that you write

there really is good grief

you've shown it well

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

When it comes our time for grief
How we hope to find a theif
who will take this private fief
And deliver to a far off reef.

you can make pages weep
and paper cry in joy, Martie
Wonderous, as sadness is always
just a heartache away

Oh, Martie - I haven't been here for so long, and here is this tender, lovely poem of heartache.  What a poet you are, my friend!  I love your juxtaposition of bitter and sweet, using an orange to illustrate!  Perfect!
