Wagging tongues
loosed by drink
insane laughter
from the booth
These gatherings
rarer
with time
though all the
more precious
But feelings
slip through
quivering hands
that soon forget
The few hours
of refuge from
the storm
that is come
the storm of me
Alone

Clever referral to your own book of Revelations, Aenimal, as the more well known version only goes up to verse 29. Very creative usage.

I like the way that you draw the contrast between the social gathering with friends and your own aloneness.

Well written!

oh no...Denise? no joke. In fact I think you got the point of it. Raph and I just tend to have "discussions" (laughing now.)

Hugs to you both.

I'm just hesitant to start my brain up this early.

Both you and Serenity bring up valid points...such as: who determined when the Book was finished?

write on...

I wondered the joke too and didn't want to answer for fear of being made fun of...still miss it....

no matter, I like your poetry Raph, and agree can be in a group but always have to face aloneness and lonliness...and to answer Karalea's question, God did.

Hugs to you, Pat

Thanks K, you know i live for our discussions but mostly for the hugs

Denise thank you very much for your thoughts and kind words

Sunshine thanks and a great question you ask..

Pat thank you for the always kind responses but as to your answer to sunshine's question, it is humans not god. There are many more revelations to be had and it is the limiting by human hands that fouls religion. But then that's just my humble opinion and I mean no offense.

Raph,

Smiling here...no offense taken, but if that is the case then I have a few chapters I'd like to add. How about you?

Sincere love and hugs and grins, in the name of goodwill to all....

And that is how I saw this, Raph, as a continuation to the Book.  Not that it is right, or wrong, but...

so much is still found in a blink, that I think I would like to see a sequel, wouldn't you?

Pat in terms of personal revelations I'm sure that all of us have chapters to write. It's these revelations and lessons learned that make us evolve as people. And as for the biblical version well, i think after 2000 years humankind has earned the need for a few more revelations don't you?

I would love to see a sequel Karilea and an open dialogue on who should write them this time around

Raph,

No, I really don't think so at all.

But, I am one of those who believe those who wrote the bible were inspired by God to do so and I take Rev. 22:18 quite seriously and if humanity hasn't gotten it yet, they never will.

Any inspiration I have IS from God....

I do believe in the fourth dimension, and that humans have the capacity of going there....for whatever that is worth, not much, but with a dollar can buy us a cup of coffee....

I appreciate your views and honor you for deciding and choosing that which you want to believe and I know you do me and mine. May God bless us both....

Hugs, Pat

Thanks for the kind reply soulsshadow

yes Pat I do honour your beliefs and i only offer my thoughts as a gentle reminder that not all is literal and to realize that words are written by men and are therefor easily susceptible to mistranslations, misinterpretations and agendas that we 2000 years removed from them are not always aware of. Peace and be blessed
I admire your devotion and admire you as a person and that is a credit to your beliefs
Thank you for your support and your kindness

Thank you souls, it's a loaded topic for some and I don't feel it should be. I think there should be an open dialogue about these all things. It's once you close your mind to new thoughts that some become slaves to ideals and dogma whereas the point of religion should be the furthering of one's spirituality.

Raph, I appreciate the opportunity to open up a discussion, but unfortunately, I am not as well versed in the Bible as one should be to enter into a discussion on whether or not the Book is unfinished, or if it is finished.

I am speaking solely on the belief I have within me, that God may have given us the possibility of treating His earth, and all living creatures, with the respect and love that he gave his Son, who in turn, tried to teach us.

That we might change what is to be, in to what he would rather have us experience as a beginning...

something similar to heaven on earth.

So, I shall leave it to the more intelligent, better versed, and more mentally capable poets and writers to enter into that discussion with you, but trust me, I shall read along for the input, and discussion, that I am sure a theological  theme of this nature will generate.  If there comes a point in that discussion where I can offer my own opinion, I would be pleased to do so.

Again, thank you for leaving behind words that have impact, and productive of further discussion.

karilea one doesn't have to be versed in the bible to know that the story has not ended. The world did not end 2000 years ago but continues on and therefore i think so should our openess and willingness to change and evolve. That's all i was saying

Thank you Kethry, yes that about sums it up, was a great night but all nights end and new days begin

agreed M I just went on a little aside, I'm just highly interested in people's beliefs and am trying to understand them is all

There would be no point to argue religion, I for one, am not religious, and refuse to belong to any organized church or 'religion'. In sincere, forthright prayer, am I led by Him to my beliefs.

But, what I will say is the problem is not how we treat the earth and all living ceatures, it is how we treat God. It seems as if, somehow we think we are His equal.

To truly honor Him is to automatically truly honor and take care of His, we simply could not do less if we wanted.

Hugs and warm regards to all,  Pat

PS...It is my opinion humankind has ~earned~ NOTHING! Not even the breath they breathe. It is ALL a gift from Him, and yet worldwide we stand insolant and disrepectful of Him.
