Symbols

In the evenings early hours
Where the smell of jasmine flowers
Cross the looms of delicate rune
Under light of a yellow moon

And the ground in sullen lingers
Like the touch of lovers fingers
Playing sense like piano reams
Where lay the quasi-drifting dreams.

And voices speak like gaming sound
Like baying dogs where game is found.
Those baying howls that wail and fall
Each single sound that makes its call

The breeze holds the aching prey
Making its final stand at bay
A moment’s charm away from harm
With trembling heart in high alarm

Fierce symbols touch the real of birth
Jasmine and fear that stalk the earth

You've transported me to your land
so please now let me take your hand
as you lead me from the ice and chill
where perhaps I might bend your will

to offer me a cup of brew
and yes, invite our Randy, too...

Smiling with you, Sy...

your quasi-dreams play me mothy heartstings
your imagery is as impressive as your rhymes Stinkylove...most of all--your cadenced consistancy and constance to write this well each day. The Symbol for Poetry is Sy.

Wouldn't start without you Love.

JM,
Now what you wrote has caught my eye
And brought about a great big sigh.
I think I'll sadle Randy up
And stop by you for just a cup.

I liked what JM said...Sy being the symbol for poetry.  Very cool.

Jasmine and fear, both having a dintinct fragrance of their own.
One flat out stinks! Smiling here, and hoping we all have jasmine filled days and nights. Especially you, that you might share your sweet dreams with us.

Thanking you, Pat

Take my hand and hold it tight
Walk me through the moon tonight
Let me see through eyes of Sy
So never love will pass me by!

I must be blind to all you see,
As for me, love will never be.
I must learn to feel things as you do,
So Sy teach me more, won’t you?

Okay I might have pushed the last line but you get the question I bet?     I read your words, and you open so many new doors.

Sharon,
You are a rose by every meaning of the word.
So take your mind and let it fly
And be a beautiful butterfly.

Sy--The jasmine is blooming here with ease, a false spring at 80 degrees...such a fregrance is insane, in the middle of winter's hurricane.

Loved your poem!

I like the way that each preceding line brings on what follows it.
Thanks.
