The Time Had Come

You held me close and made me feel
The things I did not think were there
Our lives were good there for a while
I felt that you really did care

I hung on for such a long time
Waiting for the man I once knew
That man I never saw again
All I had was just you

Your drinking was too much for me
The things you said they hurt me too
I stuffed those feelings in so long
But you always left me feeling blue

Alot of time I had to think
Each and everyday you were gone
It was during those times I realized
The time had come for me to go back home

Unlike you I do not give up
As easily as you always did do
The time had arrived you see
To get up and move ~ leaving you
