somebody's dungeon

I'm not up to sharing
my shadows tonight,
the darkness is soothing
in it's absence of light.

Filtered remembrance
now creeps upon thought
caressing so slightly
such a subtle

  onslaught,

I've no time to slip
behind veiled rationale
it's there in minds eye
the shadow, my hell.

Taken unaware, I've naught
   left to share.

  Depeleted
I wonder what's left
  of me here.

It was as I feared

  I am forgotten

    lost
      and
       alone...

I know what you'll say
      "we still have the phone"
where touch is a whisper, a breath,
we talk of our lives
that we live in    absence.

So what of the shadows,
that cover and darken
what of the comfort
    that's offered my heart in

lack of all light, dark of surround

there's peace in the blindness
that's what my heart found.

Very well expressed, Anne! I can feel the aching loneliness in your words.

Sometimes we can get too comfortable in the chilling dark and shadows, only because we know if we stand up and fight again, it'll slash us back down.

But I hope you can get up soon, and win that battle

This was good, i really enjoyed it

Beautifully written, seeking the light that is within the shadow, the dark.
That opening is superb, a keeper.

"there's peace in the blindness
that's what my heart found."

YES.

I told Dark Angel once that I thought one of the reasons I stayed up all night was because I love that stillness in the morning hours before the sun. Sometimes I think I can feel the world around me relax and fall asleep and it feels to me, like someone took a foot off of my chest. Oh...chuckle.

coffee kicking in.

Loved the poem...

(and your new pic is adorable, you like a pixie! and I've got just the tiara for you...)

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Anne, I can relate well to these feelings, I am heartbroken now but I have the music in me and that is where I find peace and I write out my own songs to make them spin! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Anne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Thank you all so much for your wonderful responses. I appreciate each and every one of you.

And Serenity, what can I say? When you tell a woman in her late 40's that she looks like a pixie it's hard to describe how warm and fuzzy that makes her feel.

Anne, shadows are good at times, yes. Relax and enjoy your peace, you deserve this time to yourself...make the most of it...gather your thoughts and make a new light.

I adored the first few lines of this poem, I have times when I need the darkness and peace it brings.....flow with it, and embrace what wonderful things might come from your exhale.....smiles
