My love, please write a poem for me tonight;
And, with your words of love craft from your pen
A poem to touch the heart of I, your Knight.

Please write for me a poem of pure delight,
A poem that praises me above all men.
My love, please write a poem for me tonight.

Please write for me a poem that shines so bright,
A poem that plays its tune above the glen.
A poem to touch the heart of I, your Knight.

Please write for me a poem that does excite
My soul and causes me to smile again.
My love, please write a poem for me tonight.

Please write for me a poem that gives me flight
To your heart, my love, again and again.
A poem to touch the heart of I, your Knight.

So, listen as these words I now recite,
And write please for me now as you did then.
