I tend to shuffle between the deck
but I won't gamble with my heart
I'll make my own mistakes
when the cards don't fall my way.

If I lose the chance I took
I'll cut my losses when I'm down
before I play another hand
I'll pass a couple times around.

I'm a winner just for staking
but I've often been mistaken
I'll take two and raise you double
and bet against the odds.

(smiling) Like this...and the attitude it portrays. Good to see you back on the board and posting... I had missed your writing and the perspective you bring...

(sigh) That's what all life is about, making risks and letting your heart be revealed even while many may disgrace your philosophy! (big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lori, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

A heart is a terrible thing to wager~~
So I wised up and quit playing the game.

Thanks to you all, and thank you Coco for the bump up!

Lori~ Nice, reminds me of the Eagles song
"Desperado" "The Queen of hearts is always your best bet" Being a gambler of sorts I really like the card and betting approach you took with this poem.I hope someday you win the big jackpot...Paul

Playing such a game isn't a problem ...
   it can be quite enjoying,
      just use a smaller wager.
Your heart should be for a sure thing!!

A good gambler knows how long to sit at the table, and when to double the bet!
You are worth all the wagers in a casino, Lor.
Tight and word-wise, my friend!

Thanks to all you good poets.
I wrote this a while back
and it's odd to read my mood over.
I've moved on to the 'crap' table,
and play by my own set of rules these days.
Nothing remains the same
except for the heart stuff.

thanks again~
