"What a piece of work is man! How noble in reason! how infinite in faculties! in form and moving, how express and admirable! in action how like an angel! in apprehension, how like a god! the beauty of the world! the paragon of animals! And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me; no, nor woman neither, though by your smiling you seem to say so." W.Shakespeare, Hamlet Build her as noble, Mix water and dust to clay, Form if you’re able In woman’s delighting way. Make it entice lust With the curves and moving sway, Tint with Earth tones and pieces of the sky, More than mold of simple clay, And yet what is it to this aging eye, This piling of dust. Then her voice does sing, Nightingales pause to listen, Perchance to learn a new beautiful lilt, See the smile and hair glisten, Oh what wonder from clay built, What joy that form brings. From earth’s kiln fire, Baked to heaven’s perfection, To gather glad glances as dancing by, Elicit strong emotion Of man desire. But not these old eyes, Though touched by sight lovely, Tears not and yet cries, Dust formed not for her beauty. She leaves with the dawn of day, Lost to sight never to stay. Gloom |

Gloom, good write. Indeed...some things never stay, and aren't meant too either I guess. |

Hi Gloomy I've missed reading your special form of poetry. It's nice to read your dark thoughts again. |
