The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2003-01-12 09:24 PM

My heart, composed of broken lies
and memories so soon grown cold
the tears well up within my eyes
this life so lonely, sad and old.

My heart-a shattered bit of glass
a crumpled dream of used to be
Remember how we meant to last?
but now our us is only me.

My heart is hidden now away
the plaster thick to make repairs
but nights in dreams you always stay
and look-there are no bloody tears.

So well written, yet so sad. I liked the title, too. You captured a broken heart perfectly.

Give it the old heave ho Sandra...Once we have cried a river and filled it with our tears is when we learn to row our own boat!  But that doesn't keep our dreams from coming back~

This was sadly beautiful~
Be well dear poetess~
