how to bite your tongue |

You always said maybe even when you meant no. Years ago I learned how to bite my tongue against the sharpness of your words, in anxious anticipation hoping for the yes that never came. Little did I know you had suffered this same defeat while your youthful feet paced the halls of your mother's heart, searching for the gold you were sure must be hiding, only to discover that mine yielded naught but fool's gold. Tarnished silver offered brighter love lights than what you were given. I left home early. First runaway episode, I was only five, yet I was gone for three days pondering my future, my cursed heredity shadowing me until one day many years and departures later, I discovered alchemy. Now I turn dust and rust into golden dreams, and have learned to dig deeply from the mother lode of Love I discovered God had set aside, engraved with my name by the bloodflow of ancestors who had already paid too high a price. I am wealthy now, with a healthy happy child who knows that maybe does not mean no, but probably yes. [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (01-11-2003 10:35 PM).] |

I would also agree that maybe that is a "yes", and might I say you two are one dynamic duo Terrific verse m'friend. ~ The soul lies buried in ink that does not flow ~ |

Thank you so much Sharon. It's been a meandering path some days, but more flower-strewn than weedy. |

Kacy, I especially like the last verse, too. I knew when my Mom said that "maybe does not mean no, but probably yes". My daughter also knew what "maybe" meant when she was growing up. "Love makes the world go around" |

Kacy, I like this a great deal. and this....among many other lines I like: "I discovered alchemy. Now I turn dust and rust into golden dreams, and have learned to dig deeply from the Mother Lode of Love." so creative yet wise. Enjoyed, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

the possibilities of "maybe"...the certainty of "yes"...we would rather have "yes"...well written, Kacy.. believe in what your heart feels... |

Thank you so much for spending a moment here, Nan. Karilea, I apologize for stirring up any bittersweet memories. Pat, thank you. Alchemy thoughts saved me from an early doom. Scorpio, thanks, my birth sign friend. |

Sy, better insightful than inciteful, right? Barry, your reply blushed me a bit. Thank you for the warm moment. |
