It was two years ago before I realized things needed to change and grow. I sat swaying to and fro in front of the window, by candlestick glow letting words flow with the beat of the wind-blow. The death of a family member, in the month of February, following January after December, anguished a father, fueled his temper left a mother a son a daughter tender hearts, oh so tender. A young lady's dying faith in the truth left in man's way, no reason to pray, The vice outweights the virtue today. Evil reigns, all good fallen away never was there a way to get away from the pain. A growing need to be free from the obligations of family. Enough to drive someone crazy, clear vision hazy, wanting to spare feeling, and wanting to spare self-sanity, but pressure is too heavy to achieve both remains an impossibility. Understanding flourishes. Openess and truth love encourages, creating a bond unbreakable, upholstered by the flame of hope discouraged and mending, faith for a future in the making nourishes the strength to continue to live, life after death as you are living- holding no more grudges. Learning to face humility and swallow pride, One step forward, two steps back, a slow stride facing your fears, no need to hide. Go ahead and cry, but too grown to run, needing more time to learn from mistakes...mouth dry, soul inside gone and died, Was that yesterday or is that going to be tonight? Hiding my face only escalated the pain in my mistakes memories I tried to erase, What is that empty space? Broken pieces left without a trace, no remembrance, no heart, so hard to embrace those that care, so out of place when there are no more hopes and dreams left to chase. |

(big hugggsssssssss) Oh Alicia, my heart goes out to you, dearest friend, I think we all have this kind of epiphany, scattered in a different time in every single persons life, and that is where we grow and understand love much more! (sigh) This is a powerful debut, sweet friend, I love it! Welcome to Passions, sweet Alicia, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your lovely words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Alicia, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Wow, great poem. I can picture the changes you were experiencing and can see the growth. Keep at it. You are finding your true self. It is never easy, is it? A constant journey of the soul. All emotions blend into one and are necessary for us to grow. Thanks for sharing of yourself with us. Marjorie "The only gift is a portion of thyself" - Ralph Waldo Emerson |
