I’ve learnt to mask myself So that all you see Is the smile in me Even when I hit rock bottom You just see me smiling Then you don’t have to feel the hurt Because my pain Goes so deep down I don’t think you’d fight it You’d stay in the fire and burn This way you never have to be sorry You never need to see my tears And this burden has not been lifted It was just never there I know you will never Have to feel scared for me If I feel bad I will mask the hurt And you will hear my delusive word I don’t mean to be crooked I would never choose to lie Especially not to you My only relief from hurt I just hope you understand My distorted smile Was all for you. "Some men see things as they are and say why? I dream things that never were and say why not?" |

Maybe he wants to see past that? Maybe let him see the real you? I'll bet he can handle more than you might think Rosie. |

Very deep words. I can imagine the smile masking the emotions behind it. "The only gift is a portion of thyself" - Ralph Waldo Emerson |
