From the gowanus
to the belt
the lady in the harbor
shines with her torch
held high

A torch I carry
with liberty held dear

Brown eyes looked into
passion extrudes
A tender kiss
A playful grope

The water laps
at the rocky shore
The bridge in the background
gives us pause

We talk and talk
and share our views
New insights are given
and received

A deeper kiss with
passion restrained
A shyness felt
but overcome

Dear friends sharing
lovers to become
Time will move on
only to bring us closer
