White Supremacist He sat in the room, Alone among many, Without courage to speak The belief that he held. Alone in his pain, Avoiding the storm, Tossed by the ideas That challenged his norm. Bullied by self, His conflict was real, Not without like Could he find steel. In company’s strength His illness unhealed, Desiring to spread The infection revealed. Alone he had cowered, In company he flourished, Yet ever confused By antipathy nourished. In the Margins he lives With his life of unease, Believing it righteous To challenge and displease. Yet he longingly yearns For an innocence once known, Before the anger was born, And the removal of crown. So amid the throng Alone and without courage, With hollowness and shadow The ties of his bondage - He dies! [This message has been edited by Bohemianaus (01-06-2003 03:56 PM).] |

this is a sad and lonely post! Makes you.. or me at least... wonder if it was the loneliness that brought him to challenging everyone, or if its the other way around.. or if the two things fed on eachother. Anyway, I enjoyed this much. Keep writing. Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |

And that is the fundamental question of the poem - while at one level it is a critique of the person at the deepest level it asks that very question - thankyou for your comment GG Boh |
