September eleventh, two thousand and one, Terror struck, and a war had begun. Because of the horror of that tragic day, Our nation stopped, and took time to pray. God bless America, are signs we now see, And flags displaying our liberty. People have united with hearts and with hands Helping each other throughout this great land For before this date as a symbol to all, The Trade Buildings stood so strong and tall. But now on the ground in a pile of debris, Along with faces we wish to see. On this mournful day loved ones did perish, Leaving behind memories to cherish. But we as a nation must not turn to hate, For if we do...we seal our own fate. Instead turn to God, as our forefathers said, Press on together, to victory ahead. For in wars of the past our nation stood true Defending the stripes of the red, white and blue. |
