the nocturnal shift drives crisp daggers into my insulation station my obsession with light and the continental drift are oblivious to moral grounds the ones upon which I stand as I wait for the grand jury to pass through waiting for that chestnut mane to sway through my well worn memoirs buried just below the surface to often stumbled upon by these feet that I drag slump shouldered and broken down through the graveyard a breath of fresh air a drive down the coast towards the equator tracing moonlight across my knuckles and the black vinyl upholstery soft jazz keeping time with the engine’s song wandering through the winter night any destination that asks no questions suits me just fine |
