I remember yesterday, Just a thought away, Meadows where children would play. No you don’t, There were no meadows, Just the parks Crisscrossed with buildings shadows. I remember flower’s bloom, The sun, stars, and moon Summers that ended too soon They weren't there T’was graffiti scrawl Skies of endless smog, Gang colors upon the wall I remember smiling faces Girls with fine graces Laughter in happy places Never was Those people you’d never meet Beauty is but lies Thrashed out upon cold concrete. I remember You just dream Things that have never been Gloom [This message has been edited by Professor Gloom (12-18-2002 05:00 AM).] |

Thank you, Seymour Tabin, Glad you enjoyed this little argument with myself. Thank you, Earth Angel, I just write about the things about me, Seldom are they wonderful Pleased you liked this. Thank you, Sunshine, Sorry about that, take to aspirins and watch TV all night That should cure your thinking for a while. Thank you, Salty, Just a little something gleaned from a inspirational book I happen to be rereading, something I only suggest for those that WANT to think, some credit should go to George. Gloom |

Memory can be selective..in a kind way--some of the best arguments are with self--enjoyed ![]() "And it was at that age...Poetry arrived in search of me...And something started in my soul." |

Hi Prof Gloom, I was 16 when i read 1984 and still remember distinctly how this book gave me the chills (needless to say, i loved and adored it).... really glad to stumble across this...my take on your poem? probably both sets of things did happen...it's just that people choose what they wish to remember... thanks for sharing this ![]() |
