The Summer Heatwaves As I poke and prod First week of the year It is quite a dilemma No words will appear My overactive mind Full with this and that Maybe its the weather My poems seem flat With energy flagging In the hot stifling heat As each day passes I lost my bouncy beat Mind feeling frazzled As another day turns Temperatures climb The searing sun burns As a bushfire blazes Smoke drifts the sky The trees blackened Land barren and dry Summer heatwaves Its no cooler at night Sweat upon my brow With no relief in sight Hope ©2003 |

Super! This I really thought was a fine piece. Get tired of those heatwaves, for sure. Truths, Lies and Imagination, |
