Whispering Hawk A clockwork pass bears return to rest A mind adrift falls behind the steering time Grant the day a vision of your wings A sight amiss finds you high upon a sending line Brown feather cross this path of ours Your spirit charms bestow securing things Trace your winding gliding turns Solemn circles fall from atop the sky A sense of common air and brotherhood A touch of wonder floats within the wind Grant the day a vision of your flight A lifting heart finds a place to hold within Brown feather, a sturdy humble essence You bring harvest to repairing light A reminder of his whispering presence Solemn goodness, good feathered friend Timothy Work He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. Dear Timothy: I like the images of your hawk spinning spirals against the sky. I see wild raptors often, here in the country where I live and there is something awe-inspiring about them and the way they master the air currents. Betty Lou Hebert |

Great "natural" feel to this. It has a depth that is historically flavored. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

In reading this I was reminded to let my spirit soar like this creature, made by God's own spoken word! Loved this! Love, Terri~ |

Thank you all - My wife (whos is Native American) once told me that to see a hawk meant good luck. Ever since I have felt this unexplainable bond with them. Weird? Anyway, I wasn't sure about the form or movement of this poem, I am trying to break out some the molds and crutches I have been using for so long. I hope it works. Thank you all and God Bless. - Tim He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. Proverbs 28:26 |
